Accessibility

ngbootstrap provides native controls, keyboard interactions and ARIA state. Your application still needs clear labels, readable contrast and accessible custom templates.

Keyboard behavior

  • Use Tab and Shift+Tab to reach buttons, filters, editors and paging controls. Enter or Space activates native buttons.
  • DataGrid cells support keyboard focus and arrow navigation. In-cell editors use Enter to save and Escape to cancel; custom editors may need additional key handling.
  • Adding ngbGridHistory enables scoped Undo/Redo shortcuts. Text inputs retain native text undo. See the history keyboard guide.
  • Tree, Typeahead, Stepper and Splitter have component-specific controls. Follow the keyboard guidance on their example pages.

Labels and state

The DataGrid exposes grid semantics, sorting state and labeled controls. Expanded content exposes its expanded state, and editing controls communicate validation errors. Add visible labels to custom inputs, aria-label to icon-only actions and a live status message for application-owned saves or errors.

Verify your workflow

Test a complete task without a pointer: enter the component, change data, handle an error and leave it. Repeat with zoom, narrow layouts and your supported themes. Review custom templates and focus restoration with the screen readers your users rely on.

Built-in behavior is not a certification of every application or combination of features.
