Prompt Box WAI-ARIA Support
Prompt Box uses a labeled native textarea and buttons, with a polite busy announcement.
Roles, states and properties
These describe the installed implementation. ARIA communicates meaning; keyboard handlers and application code provide the interaction.
| Element | Semantics | Behavior |
|---|---|---|
| Textarea | native label, aria-describedby | Help text explains Enter behavior and the character limit. |
| Composer | aria-busy; status | Busy state makes the textarea read-only and exposes the Stop action. |
Current limitations
- Live-region delivery varies by browser and screen reader. No compatibility certification is claimed.
- Application-owned dialogs, generated content and backend errors require their own accessibility checks.
This reference is based on the shipped source. It is not a WCAG conformance certificate or a claim that every browser and screen reader combination has been tested.
See the W3C ARIA Authoring Practices Guide for guidance on custom controls.
